This is my debut novel which was named “One of the 100 best books for reading and sharing” by New York City Librarians. It’s about 13 year old Grace who spends her summer vacation in Trinidad, where she discovers a blurred photograph of a man with a birthmark exactly like her own. Grace’s search for this stranger leads to a discovery about herself and her family that she never could have imagined.

In OVERCOMING PREJUDICE, I explore various types of prejudice based on race, religion, and sex. Unfortunately I was not allowed cover sexual orientation due to objection from the series experts. Despite this, the book is comprehensive and students can see how people deal with various types of prejudice and learn how to deal with it themselves.
