As I embark on making changes to my new novel, I realize that what I was asked to do really has potential for making my novel much better. I wonder if I’m equal to the challenge of taking this manuscript where it needs to go. I hope I am, but I worry that I am not. And then a friend of mine showed up over the weekend with a signed copy of Rita Williams-Garcia’s fabulous ONE CRAZY SUMMER, which I read and reviewed earlier this year. And the inscription read, “Tracey, There is always a revision. There is always tomorrow.”
Thank you Rita, and thanks especially to my friend Karen for getting me some much-needed encouragement. You’re both awesome!
